to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Protected Critical Infrastructure
Information (PCII) Program.
The PCII Program, established in response to the
Critical Infrastructure Information Act of 2002 (CII Act), is designed to
encourage private industry to voluntarily share its sensitive security-related
business information with the Federal government.
We welcome submissions from:
- Private Owners/operators of facilities
- State and local government officials
- Local law enforcement officials
- Trade associations
Information validated as PCII by the PCII Program will be protected from
public disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and similar State
and local disclosure laws, and use in civil litigation. The protections offered
through the PCII Program facilitate information-sharing between the government
and the private sector.

it qualifies for protection under the CII Act. If additional clarification is
needed, the Program may contact the submitter before making a final
